“In some way, I can picture myself here. The Lowertown arts district feels real with a genuineness between people that even a stranger can sense at the ever-popular neighborhood cafe, open seven days, just like the library. Adjacent to the cafe is a labyrinth. Nobody seems to notice me walking there regularly; not the children in the nearby playground; not the espresso drinkers on the back deck; not the dog walkers on the sidewalk; not even the dogs or those cats that roam freely. The last labyrinth I walked was tucked away behind massive Cathedral walls out of view from the streets of Norwich. Not so in Paducah. Something as extraordinary as a labyrinth in the public square says alot about a place.”
